Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our Atmospheric Composition group within the Earth Sciences department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and applying numerical models to predict atmospheric pollutants and their effects on air quality, weather, and climate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain numerical models for atmospheric composition and aerosol forecasting
- Collaborate with researchers and scientists to integrate models with observational data and develop new forecasting products
- Design and implement data assimilation techniques to improve model accuracy
- Contribute to the development of new research projects and initiatives within the Atmospheric Composition group
Requirements:
- PhD in Atmospheric Science, Physics, or a related field
- Strong background in numerical modeling and data analysis
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Fortran, or C++
