Atida is one of Europe's leading online D2C pharmacy groups, serving customers across 8 markets. We sell tens of thousands of products in beauty, personal care, nutrition and OTC to millions of European consumers every year.
Private Label is where that scale becomes an asset. We already generate close to €1M in private label revenue across Spain and Italy, built on a portfolio that has proven the demand exists.
We are looking for a Head of Private Label to build the strategy and structure/team to scale Private Label at Group level: one brand architecture, one sourcing model, one launch playbook, and a category built deliberately rather than opportunistically.
Reporting to the VP Commercial Southern Europe, you will own the private label P&L at group level and the value chain behind it: strategy and portfolio, sourcing and product development, and brand building across BPC, food supplements and OTC. You will work across every market and every function (commercial, marketing, regulatory, supply chain, quality and the local country teams) and you will be measured on penetration, margin and the strength of the brands and assortment you build.
What You'll Do
Define the Private Label Strategy
● Build the group private label strategy: category prioritisation, brand architecture, positioning and pricing ladders against national brands.
● Identify where we win (the categories, price points and consumer needs where an Atida own brand beats the alternative) using our own transaction and search data.
● Set the ambition: penetration targets, margin targets and a five-year roadmap by market and by category.
● Rethink and rationalise the existing portfolio: what scales, what is repositioned, what is discontinued.
Own Sourcing and Product Development
● Identify, qualify and negotiate with contract manufacturers across Europe, on cost, quality, capacity, lead time and MOQ.
● Lead product development end-to-end: formulation briefs, sampling, benchmarking
against reference brands, packaging and artwork.
● Build a repeatable stage-gate process from concept to launch, with clear cost and
margin targets at every gate.
● Manage the supplier portfolio for resilience: dual sourcing, capacity planning and cost
roadmaps.
Build the Brands
● Develop the brand platform for each private label: identity, promise, tone, visual
system and consumer proposition.
● Design the go-to-market playbook: launch plans, content and imagery, on-site
merchandising, pricing and promotional architecture.
● Work with local commercial and marketing teams to adapt and land each launch by
market, without fragmenting the brand.
● Track brand performance: repeat rate, reviews, ratings, share of category and
cannibalisation of national brands.
Safeguard Product Quality
● Set the quality bar for every product that carries our name: supplier audits,
specifications, testing protocols and batch traceability.
● Partner with our regulatory function to plan registrations, notifications, labelling and
claims across markets, and build regulatory checkpoints into the product
development timeline.
● Handle quality incidents and consumer complaints with the country teams, fast and
transparently.
● Protect the brand: our own label carries our reputation, and quality is non-negotiable.
Deliver the P&L
● Own the private label P&L at group level: revenue, gross margin, contribution and
inventory.
● Build, with the help of our data team, the reporting and dashboards that make private
label performance visible and comparable across markets.
● Partner with procurement, supply chain and finance on forecasting, stock cover and
working capital.
● Present performance, business cases and investment requests to the group
executive team.
What You Bring
Hard Skills
● 7–10+ years in private label, own brand or category management, within retail,
eCommerce, pharmacy, FMCG or a manufacturer of BPC / supplements / OTC
products.
● Demonstrated experience launching and scaling own-brand products: you have
taken products from concept to market and grown them, not only managed an
existing range.
● Strong sourcing and contract manufacturing capability: supplier identification,
qualification, cost structure analysis and negotiation.
● Solid grasp of product development in beauty, personal care, nutrition or OTC:
formulation, packaging, claims and benchmarking.
● Proven P&L and margin ownership, with the analytical rigour to build a cate
