POSITION: Lower School Early Childhood Teacher (K1-K2/ K3: 3 and 4-year olds)

STARTING DATE: August 2026

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Act as the lead teacher in Kinder 1-2 for three and four-year old children

- Lead the classroom community including directing and supervising a Teaching and Learning Assistant

- Collaborate with the Early Childhood team to create and maintain a positive environment that promotes a child-centered, pre-academic, social and emotionally rich experiential learning opportunity for 3-6-year old learners

- To establish a caring relationship with students, families and other stakeholders

- To perform duties and other responsibilities as assigned by the Lower School Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

- Teacher Certification + minimum 5 years full-time teaching experience in early childhood, preferably in an international / American school setting

- Ability and experience in:

- Project-based or Conceptual planning

- Assessing learners with the Creative Curriculum Gold Standards assessments to inform instruction and integrating Gold Standards data into curriculum and lesson design

- Developing classroom communities and environments which are Regio Emilia inspired

- Implementing project-based units, (can be from sources such as Creative Curriculum)

- Using technology as an instructional tool

- Working collaboratively and professionally with colleagues across the Early Childhood Center to create a dynamic learning environment

- Maintaining flexible, positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders

- Supporting ELL and students with diverse learning needs

- Using student data to inform instructional practices

- A desire to have fun, build community, and support childhood at ASM

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Working hours: 8:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Vacation and time off: same as school holidays
