Business Development Engineer

Your Mission

As part of the Third-Party Energy Services and Industrial Solutions teams, the Business Development Engineer will support both business lines with market intelligence, client identification, and strategic analysis. She/He will contribute to strengthening Exus’ service mix, anticipating client needs, and supporting origination activities across all Exus geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Third Party Energy Services (TPES)

- Support the identification of potential new clients (investors, utilities, developers).
- Conduct market research to evaluate trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Assist in origination processes and preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Contribute to the improvement and diversification of TPES services.

Cross-cutting responsibilities

- Conduct competitive benchmarking and support definition of Exus’ value proposition.
- Prepare strategic reports, dashboards, and briefings for senior management.
- Collaborate with Operations, Technical, Legal, and Finance in evaluating new opportunities.
- Represent Exus at industry events, webinars, and conferences to gather market intelligence.
- Support ad-hoc strategic projects (e.g., M&A analysis, partnerships, due diligence).

What You Bring

- University degree in Business, Economics, Construction, Project Management, or Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Energy, or similar).
- Master’s degree in Energy, Strategy, or Finance is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in consulting, market intelligence, or business development, ideally in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Exposure to renewable energy, PPAs, or industrial electrification projects is highly desirable.
- Experience in market analysis, proposals, or client-facing materials
- Proven ability to collaborate with and align multidisciplinary teams (M&A, Legal, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Strategy & Markets) to keep projects on time and within budget.
- Solid understanding of the energy sector, including regulations, grid structures, renewable technologies, and energy balances — with the ability to translate technical context into actionable business recommendations.
- Knowledge of energy business models, including PPAs, industrial electrification, and renewable project development..

Languages:

- Fluent English (C1 level).
- Spanish at a professional level is essential.
- Other languages will be considered an asset.
