We are looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (L4) with technical leadership responsibilities to join our Mobile Team and help build next-generation mobile applications for premium brands. In this role, you will act as a technical lead—guiding architecture and execution, mentoring engineers, and collaborating closely with product and design partners. This position does not include direct people management , but it does require strong technical ownership and influence across the team.

Location & Work Model

- Location: Barcelona, Spain
- Work model: Hybrid — 2 days onsite / 3 days remote

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the technical planning and execution of mobile features and projects, ensuring solutions are high-quality, scalable, and maintainable .
- Serve as the technical point of contact for the mobile team, facilitating technical discussions, unblocking engineers, and providing architectural guidance.
- Uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and mobile architecture principles.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to refine scope, estimate effort, and align on priorities and delivery timelines.
- Contribute hands-on to mobile development by implementing features, fixing bugs, and improving performance across platforms.
- Influence the mobile engineering roadmap through technical insight and continuous improvement.

Must-have Skills (Remember to include years of experience)

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in mobile software development, with experience acting as a technical lead on mobile projects.
- Strong experience in native mobile development , including:
- Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose.
- iOS: Swift, SwiftUI.
- Solid understanding of data structures, system design concepts, design patterns, API design , and mobile architectures such as MVP, MVVM , and declarative UI.
- Experience guiding technical decisions, architecture, planning, and execution in a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with Git workflows , CI/CD pipelines , and DevOps practices for mobile applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to align engineering decisions with business and product goals.
- English level: Advanced / Fluent (spoken and written).

Nice-to-have:

- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Exposure to full-stack or backend technologies , cloud services, GraphQL , Firebase , or similar platforms.
- Passion for mobile innovation and staying current with industry trends.
- Experience in journalism, media, or content-driven products is a plus.
