We are seeking a Head of Global Pricing Implementation & Sustainable Access to join AstraZeneca’s Global Market Access and Pricing (GMAP) function to lead the Global Pricing team responsible for all BioPharma Business Unit (BBU) portfolio (CardioVascular, Respiratory & Immunology and Vaccine & Immune Therapy Franchises)

**Scope**

The purpose of this role is to lead and shape the Global Pricing Implementation (GPI) team responsible for driving execution of pricing strategy for entire BBU portfolio, including supporting local teams during launch negotiations and other lifecycle pricing events, ensuring price decisions are taken according to AstraZeneca’s internal governance, and informing financial planning activities as required. The role has a global scope, with a particular focus on key strategic markets.
The GPI Head works in close collaboration with Therapeutic Areas Access Head to develop the overall price and market access strategy for the BBU portfolio. The GPI Head also collaborates closely with the local market teams to ensure local considerations are fully embedded in the portfolio’s lifecycle management strategy. In particular, the GPI Head will ensure that any emerging pricing trends and/or ecosystem changes are appropriated considered into the broader GMAP and company strategy.
The GPI Head is also responsible to define the commercially sustainable access strategy for the BBU pharma unit, and in collaboration with the Health Equity team and other relevant functions in AstraZeneca, support AZ’s commitment to patient access globally, with focus on Low and Middle Income countries.
Finally, the GPI Head leads, coaches and guides the GPI team and connects with other Therapeutic Access Colleagues to create a cohesive team of experts driving positive pricing and access outcomes for the brands across BBU.

**You will have**:

- University degree
- Pricing and reimbursement regulations and processes in key markets.
- Knowledge of how different factors drive payer decision making at country level
- Knowledge of how prices and market access conditions in a market can influence other markets regionally or globally.
- Challenges and future developments of the pricing and reimbursement environment
- Experience of developing pricing and reimbursement strategies in an international environment
- Experience in executing price strategies, developing launch sequences and negotiation strategies for local payer negotiations.
- Experience of leading cross
- functional teams to deliver and communicate innovative customer solutions based on detailed customer insight
- A proven track record of being able to integrate their own thinking and activities into the work of other teams
- Experience working in Primary and specialty care area of pricing, access
- Able to develop models for quantification of pricing scenarios and risk, eg financial models
- Pricing research methodology and interpretation
- Track record of delivery in the payer area, or in a function either in terms of strategy or in influencing payer decision making
- Strong understanding of how payer decision-makers influence development strategies
- Good understanding of emerging innovative value strategies and implementation best practices

**Highly desirable**:

- Postgraduate qualification in business administration, finance or economics
- Knowledge of the innovative pricing approaches used to optimize price and access
- Knowledge of the needs and expectations of regional payers, insurers and commercial customers in key markets
- Experience working with customers on evidence-based customer solutions eg through working with local payers in Europe
- Experience in a marketing company in a commercial strategy function eg managed markets brand director, business development director, head of pricing/access
- Experience preparing reimbursement submissions and negotiating with local payers
