**Infectious Diseases Research Group**

Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes

and undertakes innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. VHIR is focused on

finding solutions to the health problems of citizens, and aims to contribute to scientific, educational, social and

economic development within its specialist fields around the world.

VHIR offers a vacant position for a graduate to work on the project **"Methicillin-susceptible **_Staphylococcus _**

**_aureus_** biofilm formation on vascular grafts"**, in the Laboratory of Antibiotic Resistance and in collaboration

with the Vascular Surgery, Endovascular Surgery and Angiology department**_. _**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Degree in Biology or Biomedicine with a minimum grade of 6.5 on the scale of 10.
- To hold an official master’s degree in the Microbiology field.
- It is necessary to have work experience in the field of multiresistant microorganisms; studies of antibiotic

susceptibility at a planktonic and biofilm formation on different materials.
- Animal experimentation experience with rat and rabbit and course certificate are required.
- Fluid English is required (minimum First Certificate or equivalent) and Spanish knowledge.

**Desired**:
- Experience in article writing and publication will be valued.
- To have domain in Windows Office 2007, SPSS statistics program and programs for managing bibliographic

citation (e.g. EndNote).
- Teamwork skills will be valued.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

The participation in the project at experimental level in all its stages.
- Data analysis and preparation of articles of the experimental research project.

**Labour conditions: -**

Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: 22.823,22 €. (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are
consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
