Wholesale Payment Operations team is responsible of payment services, cash management services, trade finance services, regulatory reporting, and account management, among other governance and control responsibilities. The global operating model includes teams based in Bournemouth, Tampa, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Manila with presence in EMEA across 10 countries.

The team, based out of Madrid, is in charge of providing support to daily tax, garnishment processing, control and governance & monitoring activities across multiple legal entities in EMEA and in charge of regulatory reporting processes and data quality controls. The team also participates and manages some strategic projects and new business initiatives. The team is also seen as a Specialist Matter Expert with implication related to product and market changes, devise policy and design processes and system solutions within the EMEA Wholesale Payment Operations related areas.
**Job Summary
- Monitoring payment client activity across different legal entities. Nostro reconciliation monitoring.
- Regulatory reporting data maintenance and data quality controls.
- Support internal and external clients in strong partnership with Client Service.
- Deliver functional improvements and strategic solutions to increase efficiency, control, automation and standardization of processes.
- Provide accurate and adequate control execution and metrics monitoring to reduce operations breaks/errors, to identify and remediate deficiencies
- Ensure operations compliance with corporate policies and local regulations
- Ensure implementation of new regulatory and tax obligations as well as changes on current ones
- Understand and document the regulatory requirements to support the operational requirements, working with internal functional partners.
- Identify control weaknesses across the processes and escalate accordingly to establish corrective action plans
- Identify and evaluate the impact of change for clients, products, processes, and functions.
- Partner with key stakeholders over the processes.
- Participate in meeting, calls, and provide accurate information
- Escalate issues when appropriate and communicate status and development updates
- Pro-actively seek training opportunities within and beyond his/her field of expertise.
- Adhere to procedures, guidelines, policies.
- Continuously strive towards more efficient and robust processes in cooperation with direct manager.
- Establish reporting and maintain accurate metrics.

**Skills Required

- Applicants should be highly numerate and able to influence partners and colleagues with good interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Responsive and accessible to stake holders
- Flexibility and adaptability to the changing requirements of the business
- Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish. French speaker is a plus
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Good working knowledge with Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project)
- Ability to collaborate with business partners and functional support areas
- Accountability and ownership over the functions performed
- An inquisitive mind-set, willing to question the status quo and develop innovative solutions.

**Qualifications / years of experience:
- Economics, Business Administration degree, Engineering
