Sports Marketing employees partner with premier athletes to collect insights about existing and future products, gather inspirational stories about sport and nurture long-term relationships between the athletes and the company. The team develops and executes sports marketing strategies, obtains endorsements and licensing agreements and serves as Nike ambassadors to the sports community worldwide. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are in search of an enthusiastic commercially minded Business Manager to join our Barcelona SM Team. Someone who will fuel the growth of the business and the brand by implementing NIKE’s Global and EMEA strategy, participating in financial and business planning across our portfolio of Clubs, Federations, and our Men’s and Women’s athletes. We work with other leaders in the team to establish strategies and key measures that are consistent with long-term financial principles and critical initiatives. Most importantly, we need an inclusive teammate and a captain. Someone that will lead, encourage, and manage a team of direct reports, and will work with a broad range of colleagues across Iberia.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
- Advise on financial implications of business decisions and deliver information for related financial action plans and help implement the overall EMEA SM strategy
- Coordinate payments related to our portfolio of Clubs, Federations, Men’s and Women’s athletes, and field inquiries on payments and contract status.
- Evolve the contract request process to improve communication and contract requests. Track Contract status, T&E, OPEX, and spending
- Develop detailed budgets for various aspects of Sports Marketing.
- Prepare information required for reviews, sharing recommendations on business shifts while also supervising progress against budget targets through monthly analysis.
- Build detailed reports while actively interpreting and reviewing financial results with dimension managers, directors or Key City Leads.
- Build, and share financial information that aids in decision-making and recommend cost savings measures.
- Manage the SM Barcelona Operations team and lead all aspects of product operations for the Sports Marketing Men’s and Women’s athletes.
- Lead, educate, develop, and guide a diverse staff and build a positive inclusive environment that facilitates empowerment, and personal accountability and fosters teamwork.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will closely work with the Sports Marketing team in Iberia and next to that with the EMEA Finance and Operations team in Hilversum. You will need to collaborate closely with both EMEA and Global Sports Marketing teams to understand and roll out relevant toolkits that will be provided. Last but not least you will report directly to the SM Key City Barcelona Senior Director.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO NIKE:
- Successful experience working within Sports Marketing, with an understanding of Nike’s portfolio of Clubs, Federations, and key athletes across the Barcelona, Spain, and Iberia organization.
- Seasoned experience in Finance/Financial Planning - be comfortable working with budgets and understanding long and short-term financial planning.
- Recent experience managing a team of direct reports, responsible for the performance and personal development.
- Experience playing a key role in strategic decision-making as relates to financial investments, partnering with other teams and Directors based in Barcelona, Spain, Iberia, and EMEA.
- Demonstrates strong Portfolio Leadership skills inc. managing financial investments across the portfolio.
