Design Engineer - New Product Development

Are you passionate for technical designs and do you want to work with equipment used for transport, lifting and installation of our offshore wind turbines?

You’ll be joining our Design Team that handles all equipment used for transportation, lifting and assembly of the complete offshore wind turbines. Responsible from when the components leave the production site until it’s assembled and installed offshore.

One of the biggest challenges with our offshore wind turbines is that they consistently increase in size and weight, your role will be to develop and design solutions to support this evolution.

We have a lot of internal and external stakeholders, who are all dependent on our equipment to be delivered on time and in the right quality. For this position, it’s important that you’ll build up a certain knowledge within our equipment and that you build a network amongst colleagues. You will have to think cost into your designs, as we all strive to make the most optimal and cost-efficient solutions.

How to contribute to our vision

Our New Product Development design department consist of 40+ employees placed in Denmark, India and soon Spain.

Together you’ll be working on transport equipment, lifting equipment, storage equipment and new conceptual development for the different WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) platforms. You will be part of a larger project groups in which you all will work towards the same goal. During the project you’ll be able to go out and visit our sites to inspect the equipment you’re working on. We also have FAT and SAT tests, in which you need to represent our design team and make sure all potential errors/corrections are brought back home and updated.

Your responsibilities in this position will be:

- Design work in NX (both 3D and 2D)
- Conceptual development of new equipment to current and future platforms
- Participate in projects and become the technical point of contact
- ECN work (approval processes of your designs)
- Quality approval of your colleagues’ designs

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for a strong CAD designer with lots of experience and the mind for developing and optimizing our way of working. We prefer that you have experience with NX and Teamcenter, but most importantly is that you have a strong background working with CAD in general.

We need you to be pro-active and be active in your daily work. Participate as an active member in project meetings, speak your mind to your manager and colleagues and finally be humble and helpful to those around you.

The following criteria’s is necessary to fulfill this position:

- Minimum 7 years of experience with CAD related software, preferably NX.
- You are an outgoing self-starter and proactively takes initiative.
- You work well in both team settings and independently.
- You have a result-oriented approach to your work and have excellent communication skills
- Fluent in reading, writing and verbal English
