We are looking for an accountant for a biotechnological company with offices in Barcelona

**Responsibilities**

The primary responsibilities of this role are:
Run Accounts Payable / Receivable / Expenses processes (under supervision of Accounting Centre Lead)
- Confirm invoices with the corresponding department before their registration in the AP system.
- Transfer invoices to the accounting third-party every week.
- Quotation control and subsequent invoice verification.
- Preparation of monthly Amazon cost report, to be sent to the accounting third-party.
- Preparation of Amazon VAT payments for each country before the due date indicated on the platform and

uploading of receipts to the platform once payment has been made.
- Raise intercompany invoices to group companies.
- Prepare supplier payment runs.
- Generate customer payment remittances on a fortnightly basis.
- Review employees’ expenses reports for appropriateness and approval by line manager.
- Communication with customers regarding delinquent payments, and issuance of dunning letters.

Maintain the general ledger (under supervision of Finance Manager)
- Ensure compliance with Spanish GAAP for local accounting and with IFRS for reporting to ABF.
- Correct allocation of invoices received by accounting code.
- Record all invoices received at month/year end and accrue any relevant costs for which the invoice was not received

by the closing date.
- Confirm intercompany balances each month with ABF colleagues from other businesses.
- Ad-hoc support for the accounting and financial consultant third parties.

Perform financial administrative tasks (under supervision of Finance Manager)

Treasury:

- Issuance of a weekly list of outstanding payments specifying date of payment, method of payment and invoice

category for cash flow control.
- Prepare outstanding payments lists at month/year end.
- Daily bank reconciliation: payables and receivables.
- Record all movements in the system.
- Record and keep track of patent, trademark and R+D project spend.

Financial Control & Compliance:

- Perform physical inventory counts at year end.
- Provide support as required during external and internal audits.
- Support the ABB HNH Finance Manager in the completion of ABF’s annual financial control questionnaire.
- Update the 3rd-party register with all new suppliers and clients
- Co-ordinate anti-fraud and corruption checks.
- Liaise with bank advisers for employee credit card issuance and cancellation.

**Knowledge & experience**

Fluency in English and Spanish.

Strong Excel skills.
