For over 20 years Saft has developed Energy Storage Solutions including the first battery in Alaska commissioned and connected back in 2003 and still in operation. Saft's ESS division was created a few year ago to strengthen the company's ability to serve the global energy storage market, support the transition to renewable energy. The division is growing fast with over 3 GWh of batteries in operation or commissioning worldwide, notable in the US, Europe countries, Australia and Taiwan.
**_ The Technical manager is accountable for : _**
- The customer relationship to promote SAFT solutions and to explain SAFT solutions during the tender phase.
- The choice and the validation of the ESS technical solution.
- The coordination of the effort to prepare the technical offer and the quotation of the technical packages.
- The preparation of the return of experience (lessons learnt) and work with the central team for continuous improvement of the technical solution and documentation.
**Your missions**
- Pilot the studies for functional design of the BESS and physical product looking for the best compromise for the project.
- Negotiate or promote the product interfaces, its requirements, and the associated validation with the customer to find the best compromise with regard SAFT solutions.
- Review supplier quotations and options as well as SAFT battery configuration
- Manage and coordinate the Engineering effort to build the proposal (Clause-to-Clause, sizing, deliverables)
- Pilot the internal technical meetings (System, mechanics, Electrotechnics, electrical, electronics, software...).
- Plan and coordinate the activities and resources depending on the maturity of the tenders, the resources, and the need of anticipation.
- Pilot the technical meetings with the customer.
- Lead the risk & opportunities reviews.
- Lead the costing of the technical package.
- Capitalize the return of experience (lessons learnt) and share with the engineering department.
**Desired profile**
- Experience in engineering product delivery
- At least 8-year experience in technical development and project lead
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Multidisciplinary technical knowledge (System, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronical, Software )
- Good knowledge of the key product (batteries, PCS, PMS) required.
- English, Office (including MS project).
