Electromechanical Engineer

**CONTRACT TIME - LOCATE.**

Permanent - Madrid (Site of Cerro Negro).

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB.**
- Develop electrical and mechanical engineering tasks in Services activities, including assessment, requirements specification, equipment and functional design and integration, BOM definition, cable routing, validation and certification activities, so that they contribute to enhance QCD performance and meet Projects and Business Unit objectives

Collaborate to meet the objectives established by the management for Maintenance Projects

- Internal: Maintenance and modernization Engineers, project Managers, Depot / Workshops Managers and Fleet Responsible, Industrialization and Operations, Sourcing and Supply Chain, Tender Department, External: Suppliers, Customers, External engineering service providers, Designated, Notified and Assessment Bodies (Certification and Interoperability), Universities and external laboratories

**RESPONSABILITIES**
- Comply with Alstom standards and Quality, Cost, Delay (QCD) commitments while performing mechanical and electrical engineering tasks.
- Develop engineering activities with due diligence, self-initiative, coordination, team-working and continuous improvement.
- Define functional requirements and equipment technical features aligned with customer specifications.
- Perform the system assessment, design, studies, calculations and complete BOM definition to enable series reparation, production or acquisition. Manage those required fleet or facilities design modifications following Alstom procedures and methods & tools.
- Secure the system validation and performances demonstration, and support Certification and Homologation processes for those new or re-designed mechanical, electrical or structural solutions, preparing and providing both technical and documentation evidences.
- Open and trusty relationships with internal and external customers, providing the required technical clarifications and support to troubleshooting in order to get products / solutions validated and installed in line with project objectives.
- Effective resolution of service failures or repair needs in electrical, power and control-information components, mechanical components being either part of rolling stock, infrastructure or maintained facilities.
- Support to tenders by providing preliminary technical definitions, studies and calculations for mechanical and electrical solutions, as well as optimized design, installation, validation and homologation costs.
- Effective interface and coordination with external engineering providers on mechanical and electrical engineering tasks, including requirements definition, clarifications, design follow-up and deliverables validation.
- Self-initiative and continuous contribution to improving engineering M&T and implementation of standard processes.

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

English: advanced level

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE**

**Mandatory**:

- At least 5 years experience in electromechanical design engineering activities at detail level within of the following domains: Mechanical design, power systems, low voltage, control/information solutions, FEM calculation. Valuable railway engineering experience as well as structural components.
- Advance level in CATIA V5: Part and Assembly design, Drawing, Advance surface design, FTA and Harness.
- Demonstrable skills and experience in CAD design tools AutoCAD, AUTOCAD Electrical, E3S, NEO, ePLAN and PDM/PLM.
- Knowledge of FEM calculation methods and tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH, CATIA V5 )
- Knowledge of rolling stock equipment, maintenance processes, industrialization activities, electrotechnical components and railway standards.

Proficient in the use of MS Office.

**Desirable**:

- Strongly valuable experience in solving design issues, obsolescence and expertizing electromechanical equipment and installations.
- Experience in electromechanical components integration and cabling routing.
- Skills in new materials and manufacturing processes, including Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing.
