**Our opportunity**

The Data Product Owner understands business needs and transform use cases into Products. The Data Product Owner acts as an entrepreneur who is in charge of the vision, financial sustainability and product creation. It is a collaborative work with EDAA teams and several stakeholders (internal/external) that requires leadership to introduce new products. The Data Product Owner is accountable for the “What” in terms of requirements/solutions.

**Your role**

The Data Product Owner has the accountability (product content/financial/customer facing) to convert initial use cases into much larger products that impact positively Zurich Insurance. You will work and lead cross-over teams and technologies to achieve our mission.

**As a **Data Product Owner** **your main responsibilities will involve**
- Collaborating closely with the organisation leadership team, data and analytics teams and other functions such as UW, Claims, Distribution, etc., to understand business demand, identify suitable products or new use cases, and building/leading their initial implementation.
- Managing the Data Product creation including strategic planning, prioritisation, communication, stakeholder involvement, metrics and reporting, conveying business value
- Active, “hands-on” participation, working directly with stakeholders to create products.
- Defining key metrics / indicators to measure progress and success of the Products.
- Facilitating the conversion of the initial Products into much larger roll-out cross BUs.
- Determining which emerging issues (internal and external) are relevant to the organization's current and future data needs and ensuring strategies, policies, programs, and processes incorporate these trends and address key issues and risks.
- Building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders from BUs and Group Functions, as well as some external parties (cloud provider, fintech, etc.)
- Planning and leading sessions with internal customers to co-create Data Products.
- Systematically track the added value for the Data Products, making constructive suggestions incl. e.g. stopping the Data Product creation if the business impact is not significant
- Building and sustaining relationships with Peers, e.g Data Science Lead, Project managers, and Solution architects to design/build long lasting and impactful products.
- Being the arm on selected strategic initiatives by bringing EDAA/Data experts together.
- Keeping abreast of company and industry trends in data and analytics, as well as data and analytics tools and technology.

**Your Skills and Experience**

**As a Data Product Owner your skills and qualifications will ideally include**:

- < University degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Actuarial Science, statistics and Economics ç
- 5 or more years of experience in the insurance industry, with deep expertise in at least one or more fields of insurance practice, e.g. UW, pricing, claims, risk modelling, risk management
- Hands on experience with modelling, data science, visualisation tools and techniques (e.g. C, Python, R, SQL, Azure, PowerBI, etc.)
- Sharp business acumen, have a knack of business case building and financial planning
- High level influencer - excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to efficiently and effectively translate business demands to technical requirements. Experience working with executives and/or senior management is a strong plus
- Experience leading and facilitating collaborative solutions end-to-end, including designing, strategic planning & prioritising, delivery and feedback
- Highly adaptable, able to navigate ambiguities in complex environment and formulate solutions accordingly; consulting experience preferred
- Strategic thinking; approaching work in a systematic fashion
- Innovative, curious, fast learner with can-do attitude; team player
- Proficient in English; German is a strong plus
