**Purpose of Role**:
This position is to cover a Maternity Leave, for an intendent period of 6-8 months.

Reporting to the Director, Talent and Engagement, in the Toronto Office, the Learning & Development Lead leads the Learning and Development strategy and is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, monitoring and review of all learning, training and employee development programs and activities supporting the Las Palmas office and TMLSA. Responsible to manage and provide educational and professional leadership, especially workplace training and assessment based learning options. This includes the areas of training need assessment, curriculum development, and people development initiatives as well as working in close collaboration with the Senior L&D Superintendent at TMLSA and his/her team. Act as back up of the Talent & Performance Manager TMLSA as needed.

**Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties**:

**1. Learning & Training**
- Interface with L&D's internal customers on understanding and caters to their Learning requirements.
- Monitor and manage the quality of training delivery and relationships with training delivery partners.
- Understand customer needs in a way that appropriate learning solutions can be suggested to the customer.
- Establish networks and build a relationship with internal customers, stakeholders and team members within the organization.
- Create and execute learning strategies and programs.
- Evaluate individual and organizational development needs.
- Advise on the implementation of various learning methods for Las Palmas office and TMLSA (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training)
- Design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops and other trainings if required.
- Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
- Accountable for individual development plan framework, strategy and roll-out.
- Provide guidance and support for Individual Development Plans in Mauritania.
- Assist and support Mauritania in the implementation and delivery of Leadership programs as required.
- Plan and design the training guidelines, processes mapping, programs and activities required to meet the operational needs at Site in collaboration with the Senior L&D Superintendent.
- Collaborate in the creation of the Learning and Development annual Strategic Plan and Budget for TMLSA.
- Work together with internal clients in conjunction with training development programs and the following up progress.
- Monitor training performance and training result.
- Identify with the L&D team at Site a training calendar.
- Develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities and regularly monitor and reports results to management, along with recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
- Work in collaboration with the local HR teams and responsible leaders to design and implement learning plans and activities to support the succession plans including the process of definition of critical roles.
- Develop tools and processes to help managers at all levels support the transfer of learning back on the job.

**2. Leadership Development**
- Assist in the development of the Leadership Development program including research of best practices.
- Support the design and development of programs and training modules taking into consideration regional and cultural differences.
- Develop tools and processes to help managers at all levels support the transfer of learning back on the job.
- Responsible for the Generation Gold (GG) and Professional Development Program (PDP) in the Las Palmas office and TMLSA, supporting the GG and PDP assignees during their tenure in the relevant programs.
- Support on the training and communication planning/delivery for the regular performance management cycles.

**Qualifications & Skill Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in HR or business related field.
- 3-5 years of previous experience working in an HR within a similar position.
- Very good English level both speaking and writing. French is an asset.
- Advance knowledge of software skills and presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience in conducting competency-based interviews and having coaching conversations with employees and managers.
- Ability to work and interpret assessment results.
- Demonstrated experience with Learning management systems like Success Factors (e.g. Talent Mine).
- Possess outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Have an eye for detail and take end-to-end ownership of deliverables
- Able to travel to Sites up to 30% of the time.
