**Responsibilities**:

- Project management: Lead the identification, validation, and development of drug targets and compounds.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with various disciplines, such as medicinal chemistry, innovation, analytical chemistry, CMC, and preclinical development, to ensure seamless integration of drug discovery efforts.
- Stay updated: Keep abreast of scientific advancements in drug discovery. Explore emerging trends and technologies to enhance capabilities.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields.
- Minimum of 7 years of drug discovery experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a successful track record of advancing compounds from hit identification to preclinical development. Experience in developing small molecules for specific indications is desirable.
- Proficiency in drug discovery methodologies, including hit generation, lead optimization, in-vitro and ex vivo assays, and preclinical development.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic-thinking abilities.
- Leadership skills: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external scientists and researchers.
- Business acumen: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, managing partnerships effectively.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and intellectual property considerations in early stage development.
- Knowledge of AI tools for drug discovery is advantageous.
- Experience in collaborating with academia is a plus.
