BayWa r.e. Projects España S.L.U. - a wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e. AG - is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal. Due to our dynamic growth, we are expanding our team in Spain and are currently looking for a **Grid Engineer.**
What You Will Do
- Manage the successful delivery of the grid connection high voltage package for Onshore Wind, Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects through their lifecycle (origination, development, tender, execution and commissioning);
- Manage the delivery of works being undertaken by electrical and high voltage grid connection contractors and consultants.
- Liaise with external (TSO, DNO or other developers) to lead and coordinate grid interconnection requirements.
- Preliminary design of substation and definition of main plant equipment.
- Manage the delivery of works being undertaken by electrical and high voltage grid connection contractors and consultants.
- Estimation of project CAPEX, OPEX and time scheduling.
- Conduct a cost/benefit analysis and check the compliance with Technical Specifications and with DNO’s, TSO’s, local or international standards.
- Definition and optimization of power transformers according to plant design / grid codes / DNO or TSO requirements.
- Identify and mitigating project risks, advise the business on an ongoing basis about existing and anticipated grid - related liabilities and costs.
What You Bring
- You have an educational and professional background in engineering, especially electrical engineering.
- Sound knowledge in current Spanish legislation and procedures regarding new grid connections (i.e.: Procedimientos de Operación REE).
- You have experience in conceptual design of substations and OHL/UGL.
- You have previous experience (in the development and delivery of high voltage infrastructure, including substations, overhead lines and underground cables, for voltage levels 45 kV, 66 kV, 132 kV, 220 kV and 400kV.
- You bring comprehensive knowledge of the Spanish DNO/TSO network as well as local Spanish, EN and IEC standards.
- You have a structured way of working, are well organized and have good time management skills.
- You are fluent in business English and Spanish.
- You enjoy working in an international and digital environment.
- You are proficient with MS Office and AutoCAD, additional experience in PowerFactory is a plus.
