**Innovation Financial Officer**
**Innovation Unit**

VHIR is seeking a highly skilled Financial expert to join our organization as a key member of the Innovation Unit. The

projects and VHIR’s Spin-offs; thus, contributing to the success of VHIR’s innovation strategy.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications: -**

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Further certifications will be relevant.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

3-years’ experience in financial controlling / analysis, preferably within an innovation-driven environment.
- Solid financial analytical skills, with expertise in financial modeling.
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial

stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Well-organized, proactive, results oriented professional with close attention to detail. Team player with ability to

interact with different units / departments of the organization.
- Fluent in Catalan (level C), Spanish and English (B2).

Expertise in financial modeling and related software and tools (Excel, Power BI, )
- Experience in developing financial plans and conduct feasibility studies for start-ups will be relevant.
- Familiarity with licensing agreements and revenue recognition principles.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Financial Controlling: billing, update and monitoring financial performance of innovation projects, intellectual

property protection, identification of improvement areas, and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency.
- Financial Analytics and Modeling: assessment of profitability, evaluation of investment opportunities, and support

strategic decision-making.
- Financial Plans for potential Spin-Offs: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive financial

plans for potential Spin-Offs. Assess market potential and evaluate financial viability. Provide guidance on

financial structuring, funding options and risk assessment.
- Licenses follow-up: Oversee the financial aspects of licensing agreements, ensuring compliance performance,

track royalty payments, and proactively identify opportunities to maximize licensing revenues.
- Reporting and presentation: Prepare regular financial reports, highlighting key financial insights, trends, and

performance indicators.
- Liaise with external companies, auditors, regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders
