**About Us**
As a Tech Hub Manager for the Development Centre, you are responsible for running the local part of the company, including working with our accountants on finance, dealing with the statutory and Ocado Group fillings and are responsible for all employees in the centre, their Health & Safety and welfare.
This role includes leading directly the Business Support team and working closely with other Central functions like People, Recruitment, Finance and EB & Comms. A key aspect is to enable the growth of our culture in line with the Ocado Technology guiding principles which include Craftsmanship, Trust, Collaboration, Autonomy, Learn Fast, whilst being an exemplary leader within the site as well as building a collaborative environment.
As a Tech Hub Manager you are very comfortable in a company that is growing and developing very quickly. Is happy in an environment that is changeable and excited by a role that requires an ability to flex and adapt to that change.
**Job purpose.**- Champion Ocado Technology’s values, principles, behaviours and culture.- Forge strong collaborative bonds and learning culture with other development centres- Ensure smooth and efficient collaboration within Ocado Spain support functions.- Work with Product, Data and Engineering leaders to build and develop effective leadership teams within the centre.- Support the Heads of Engineering/Product/Data departments and Engineering/Product/Data Directors as a trusted advisor to support the creation of software development teams that deliver high quality and effective solutions.- Develop effective communication practices to disseminate appropriate information to employees.- Engage with the local technical community to ensure that the work of Ocado Technology locally and globally is well understood.- Maintain a proactive and open communication channel with all appropriate leadership structures in Ocado- Assist the Technology Centres Director, Product / Engineering Directors and Heads, in top-down and bottom-up communication, including strategic and tactical priorities.
**Operational**-
- Coordinate development centre operations responsible for recruiting and retaining high-quality individuals, people (HR) team, facilities, legal, PR and finance regardless of whether they are locally managed/outsourced or centrally provided- Support Heads and Engineering/Product Directors build and grow highly functioning development teams.- Close cooperation with finance both locally and centrally to produce and agree on centres budget including annual headcount, operating budgets and expenses.- Work with finance to ensure that the centre’s budget is managed and accounted for.- Support central team to manage the day to day requirements of running the centre and legal entity (local employment laws, holidays, council representatives, compensation levels etc).
**Growth**- Where necessary, is heavily involved in the selection and development of the centre’s office to create a compelling place to work.- Along with Recruitment and People Partners identify the skills needed to build and deliver the operational plan, working with the recruitment team to hire accordingly.- Build and enhance the Ocado Technology brand locally and promote awareness of Ocado Technology as an employer of choice.- Work with local establishments (such as user groups, colleges and universities) to present Ocado Technology as a significant technology brand in the local area.- Engage the local technology community and enthuse them about the work Ocado Technology is doing both locally and internationally.- Along with other leaders in the centre, create and shape the centre, aiming to build an exemplary organisation where everyone is proud to work.
**Efficiency**- Support an innovative, collaborative and productive environment for all employees to perform to their best and exceed their potential.- Develop the skills of direct reports through appropriate training, coaching and mentoring.- Drive productivity and performance within the Business Support team and successful collaboration with central services to support the needs of the centre and other stakeholders.- With the help of the People Partners, support managers in dealing with people issues that might impede team effectiveness and performance e.g. communication issues, behavioural issues, skill issues, process issues and technical issues.
**About you**- Experience in a senior leadership role, leading other leaders or big groups, within a fast-changing Technology company.- People management experience - an experience of leading and managing others.- Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building and networking skills.- Willingness to develop in Business Management (e.g. budgeting, audits, running a business, commercial awareness, legal aspects etc).- A customer-focused or product mindset.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English & Spanish).- Comfortable communicating with large groups of
