Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data - structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We are in the process of integrating our disparate products into Azure Synapse Analytics with a set of experiences that are meant to simplify and accelerate time to value.
Within Azure Data, the Cosmos team builds and operates one of the largest big data analytics systems on the planet, serving the data platform requirements of Microsoft teams including Office, Bing, Windows, X-box, and Commerce. We build highly reliable, secure, and scalable distributed software that handles several exabytes of data. We are a mission critical platform that enables Microsoft teams to transform any data at any scale into business assets easily at low cost. Security, compliance, and data privacy are top concerns for our customers. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Cosmos team. You will learn about the Microsoft compliance offerings and service audit readiness to ensure that customer data entrusted to Cosmos is private, safe, and managed in a compliant manner, meeting even the most stringent federal customer requirements.

**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with customers, internal partners, product engineering, legal and central compliance to define and prioritize security, compliance, and privacy related requirements.
- Proactively identify short-term and long-term investment opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and prioritize investments in consultation with product engineering, legal and central compliance.
- Develop and own a short-term compliance calendar and long-term compliance roadmap for Cosmos.
- Write compelling technical specifications that outline customer needs and product requirements.
- Collaborate with product engineering to successfully implement and deploy capabilities that enable product fundamentals and meet the customer requirements related to security and compliance.
- Work closely with central teams to define internal audit scope, participate in finding rationalization, mitigation development, and tracking of findings to closure.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in product management for the underlying platform of a commercial technology product.
- 3+ years of Project Management skills with experience managing large-scale, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
**Other Requirements**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred/Additional Qualifications**
- Experience with cloud computing, online services, enterprise software development, engineering, and/or operations at scale.
- Experience in managing security or compliance-related engineering programs.
- Demonstrated technical security experience and knowledge in security controls: Authentication, access controls, encryption or logging that map to standards like NIST SP 800.
- Familiarity with privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA and other regulations.
- Familiarity with one or more compliance offerings such as FedRAMP, SOX, ISO 27001, SOC (1, 2, 3 Type II), PCI, HiTRUST, HIPAA.
- Experience partnering closely with internal and external customers and partners.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Executive presence, leadership, communication skills in influencing customers and senior executives.
