Main Purpose Of Job:
Correctly and on time deliver every month/quarter administrative closing of the balance sheet, profit and loss account for the Spanish companies and subsidiaries. Support and supervision in the calculations of taxes and communication with tax authorities, analysing the impact for the organization.

Supervision and leadership of the local accounting team, both in technical and organizational matters.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for all accounting activity to deliver correct and on time (execution of periodic accounts, execution of depreciation, preparation and first analysis of income statement, calculation of corporate income tax, preparation and first analysis of balance sheet, signalize bottlenecks and come up with advices, etc.)
  • Management and supervision of the local accounting department, planning and distributing the tasks, and monitoring the performance of the team. Provision of guidance to the team. Constant analysis and review of the systems and procedures, in search for the optimal and more effective way of performing the tasks.
  • Responsible for the process for intercompany loans and administration of all loans of RWE in Spain and subsidiaries. Calculate interest, posting of the monthly accrual of the loans-internal and external
  • as well as in the internal IT software tool.
  • Set up administrations of acquired new companies against the rules and systems of RWE.
  • Support the midterm planning and auditing process (financial data and loan information, sign of the bank balances, etc.) by deliver the requested data internal or external.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and calculation of the monthly liquidations for the hedging operations, as well as the fair value for the open deals.
  • Responsible for a correct intercompany administration and invoices and inform and education stakeholders timely and correctly.
  • Support and and supervision of the taxes calculation and reconciliation of those taxes reflected to accounting figures. Advice management about the impact of tax consequence for business decision. Support differentiation between companies that file monthly, quarterly or yearly taxes.
  • Support in the interpretation and translation/communication of new tax regulation into specifications for administration an operative business consequences for the company.
  • Responsible as owner of all financial accounting systems for and coordinating access. Translations of corporate accounting/tax rules into the Spanish systems or processes.
  • Continuous improvement processes and/or products are optimized. Monitors the compliance with relevant (financial) administrative guidelines (compliance), procedures and instructions within the assigned work area. Detects bottlenecks/problems within the work, set for improvements and realizes this.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in economics or business administration.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Accounting and Tax administrations.
  • Knowledge and work with different systems for example SAP, Navision, Excel
  • English speaking and writing.
  • Planning and working under pressure
  • Analytic and effectively working.
  • Ability to manage teams.
