Persei Space, through the E.T.PACK-F Project, a beneficiary of the EIC Tech to Market Venture Building Programme and supported by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, is looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with an entrepreneurial profile to complement the current founder team and lead the technology development of the company.
About the Project The E.T.PACK-F project aims to develop a Deorbit Device (DD) using electrodynamic tether technology, advancing from TRL 4 to a flight-ready stage for an in-orbit demonstration (IOD).
The project aims to enhance Europe's capabilities in space debris deorbiting, in-orbit servicing, spacecraft re-boost, and planetary exploration, potentially disrupting existing markets and creating new opportunities.

About the Role and the Project's Current Challenges The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will play a critical role in advancing the deep-tech project E.T.PACK-F by bringing technical expertise, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset to drive innovation, accelerate technology development, and contribute to the overall success of the initiative.
During the first four months, you will participate in the EIC Venture Building Programme alongside the team as an Entrepreneur in Residence, consolidating the technology strategy and validating the relationship with the current founders to ensure you are building a cohesive and solid team.
If the outcome of this period is favorable, you will join Persei Space as the official Chief Technology Officer of the company.
What Will Be the Main Project Challenges for the Coming Months?
Construct industrialization roadmaps for the three main products of Persei Space based on electrodynamic tether technology: deorbit device, compact propulsion system, and propulsion system for in-orbit servicing vehicles.
Lead the ongoing technical research & development project in Persei Space.
Co-create a strategy with the team for scaling up the company.
Qualifications & Experience Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
A PhD will be valued.
Areas of expertise: space mechanisms, space avionics, space system engineering, VC funding, and space product development.
Experience in the space industry.
Advanced English (C1).

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer Opportunity to be eligible as CTO of Persei Space with relevant equity after the residency (first four months' remuneration provided by the programme).
