The hotel belongs to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group which is an international hotel management group with more than 38 luxury hotels, resorts and residences with a worldwide presence in Asia, Europe and the Americas.We are currently looking for new talent to join the Front-Desk department as PBX.What will be the main functions you will perform in your position?To carry out the correct operating procedures under the direction of the FO Manager.To be fully conversant with posting and charging procedures for any 'connected' calls.To be able to take messages in writing and ensuring delivery.To maintain a good working relationship with all departments.To be able to assist guests with internet access challenges.To be fully aware of the need for discretion in relation to hotel clients and employees, never giving out unauthorised information.To deal with emergency requests promptly and efficiently at all times.To report any telephone, internet, TV System and facsimile faults to the Manager and Supervisors, departmental contact or Service Company.To maintain good conduct in the switchboard area, keeping to scheduled shifts and arriving punctually at the stated time.To keep the daily information sheet and board updated at all times, ensuring that relevant information is handed over to all team members.To help keep the switchboard area clean and tidy.To comply with hotel rules at all times and to maintain the highest standards of personal appearance and hygiene.To be flexible in the rota.To perform any other duties outside the normal daily tasks, but within the overall scope of the position.To report any console/system, bleep or telephone faults to the appropriate body, logging action.To make sure to assist all departments' calls when they revert to the board.To ensure that master accounts are kept accurately and to standard, closing them in the evenings when required and checking phone revenue posted at all times.To prevent the unauthorised use of the telephone equipment.To be fully conversant with the operation of the fire procedures and assist the Front Desk Manager in ensuring that all operators are fully conversant with the procedures within one week of starting.To be fully conversant with all other emergency procedures; bomb threat, ambulance, police and doctor calls, assisting the Front Desk Manager is ensuring that all operators are likewise familiar.To assist with housekeeping reports of telephone faults or message lights needing repair and report faults accordingly.To be willing to cross train and assist in reception and concierge as needed.Requirements:Previous service experience in a luxury hotel.Knowledge of computers and systems.Possess an excellent written and verbal command of Spanish, Catalan and English.Excellent overall communication skills.Strong desire to provide excellent guest service.Flexible schedules and hours, willingness to work on weekends.What kind of talent are we looking for this position?We are looking for a person with good customer orientation.To be used to work in a team and like to learn from multiculturalism.The person who joins us must be committed and professional.We are looking for someone who is responsible and reliable.What do we offer our talent when working at Hotel Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona?We have a Canteen with a different menu every week, so you can eat during your work shift.We have a learning platform where you can be trained in the courses you are interested in.Our laundry team will provide you with a clean and ironed uniform whenever you need it.Our working environment at the hotel is young, fun and multicultural.Complimentary stays and special staff rates.You can have a tea or coffee whenever you want in our Coffee corner.Be part of a company with worldwide recognition.Join a team with a passion for service and luxury.You will have at your disposal an electric kick scooter bike parking.We organize staff parties and team buildings throughout the year.We offer options for growth and/or projection within the group.We offer free weekly physiotherapy sessions, so you can relax.Enjoy your birthday, free to spend it with whoever you wishMandarin Oriental, Barcelona is an equal opportunities employer.
