We are pleased to inform you that the British Council School in Madrid, Spain, is advertising for the post of School Nurse. This post will be a temporary , part-time local contract starting on September 2024 , covering a maternity leave.
The contract will be for 29.5 weekly hours , from 10:00 to 15:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10:00 to 17:15 with a 30-minute lunch break on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The deadline for receiving applications will be the 1st of September 2024 at 23:59 Madrid local time.
Role purpose and Context The School Nurse will be a member of the school nursing team and work as part of the team responsible for the school's Health Department for children from 2 to 18, across all sections.
The School Nurse will provide clinically skilled and individualised care to pupils, and on occasion, to staff and visitors. The School Nurse will have regular duties relating to the general pastoral and intimate care of pupils, and will be part of the team responsible for on-site Health and Safety which will include risk assessments. He/she will contribute to the Quality of Experience of all children supporting wellbeing in general.

The Role Profile should be seen as enabling rather than restrictive and will be subject to regular review.
Language Requirements English and Spanish language ability: Proficient in Spanish. English (spoken and written level B2 in CEFR or equivalent). Relevant language certifications/experience to be indicated in Application Form and CV. Language Tests may be required. If no certifications are available, employee may be hired conditional to the achievement of the required level certification within a 12-month period.
Proof of Identity requirements/right to work in country Candidates are expected to have researched whether they have the right to live and work in Spain.
Additional job requirements Flexibility with working hours and section of school subject to operational needs.
