This is a unique opportunity to go through our in-person and online training curriculum as well as learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors with on-the-job training.You will gain hands on experience and grow your career whilst traveling the world and providing power to communities.
Upon successful graduation from theField Engineering Program, you will be eligible for a Technical Field Advisor position working on Electrical Excitation.As a TFA for Electrical Excitationyou are responsible for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System and accountable for control of costs, quality control - preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts.
How You Will Make a Difference:Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standardsPre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and proceduresLead execution of retrofit projects, including Excitation systems (EX2100 EX2100e, LS2100, LS2100e and HMI products), Generator Protection Systems (GPP), and Power System Stabilization systemsSupport warranty administration and troubleshooting issuesProvide timely and accurate internal and external reportsDrive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.Support the business growth initiativesTrace through the software documentationImplement control constant modificationsReading and modifying software sequencingSet up and modify the hardware and software associated with the Gas/Steam Turbine Excitation / LCI systemImplement excitation control system software changesProvide Technical Direction for writing install and terminate, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine excitation / LCI system.
Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operationSpecial Role Requirements:Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignmentsSkills for SuccessYou should be fluent in English with strong technical competence and passion for engineering.
