.Generally responsible for the organization and staffing of the Engineering Department and the delegation of assignments to respective Section Heads; the planning, coordination and supervision of the activities and personnel involved in the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of machineries and equipment; the formulation, establishment and improvement of work procedures and standards, and the assessment or evaluation of all ongoing and completed projects done by the department. Also responsible in establishing procedure to safeguard lives and property at the Plant, in order to avoid product damage and contamination to counter any catastrophe or handle the same accordingly.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConducts regular meeting with the Engineering Supervisors & PCO in monitoring sections scheduled job activities within the approved manpower & cost budget.Prepares and supervises the finalization of sketches for project design, detailed specifications and cost estimates for construction, repair or installation of buildings, equipment and machineries.Enforces to the Engineering Supervisors the submission of each section's maintenance report to monitor if equipment and machineries are tested and inspected regularly and uses it as basis in the establishment of preventive and corrective maintenance program (TPM).Approves purchase requisitions for equipment parts/accessories and certifies to the Resident Manager the requisition of parts/items to be purchased; sees to it that these are purchased at the lowest possible cost considering the quality of items; assures adequate supplies of maintenance materials. Sees to it that purchased materials are properly accounted for and recorded accordingly.Performs routine inspection at the Boiler House, spot-checking and coordinates with the Engineering Supervisor regarding all technical problems encountered in the operation.Evaluated quotation/lease submitted by bidders/outside contractors and participates in the awarding of contract. Assess all ongoing construction or installations and issues certification of good accomplishment as may be required for payment purposes.Coordinates closely with Top Management and other Department Heads the schedule of emergency breakdowns, other engineering repairs or installation in order to avoid or at least minimize interruption of operation or production, the correction or improvement of equipment capacities in the processing line, etc. Assists the Management and other departments regarding their technical problems thru period consultations and inspections.Sees to it that all construction works done in the Plant conform with the government standard, laws and regulations.Oversees the maintenance of all waste water treatment facilities including the generation, collection and cooking of scum to produce oil for our non-food new products
