Electrical Simulation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Simulation Engineer to join our team at Nordex Group. As an Electrical Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the transient and steady-state electrical characteristics of our product portfolio within power system studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize electrical simulation models in various simulation tools such as PSCAD, DigSilent PF, Matlab/Simulink, and Siemens PSS/E.
- Parametrize and maintain simulation models over the whole product life cycle.
- Perform various kinds of simulation studies on Wind Power Plants, including stability studies and harmonic studies, and present the results in reports.
- Optimize Grid Code Compliance within electrical studies.
- Benchmark and validate developed simulation models.
- Investigate and analyze wind turbine functions/features in relation to connected grid systems.
- Feed back experience to product development based on practical Grid Code Compliance know-how due to grid integration studies.
- Optimize model development and electrical study processes by automation.
- Model testing and quality assurance.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or similar.
- Experience with EMT and RMS modelling and simulation in at least one simulation software like PSCAD, PSS/E, DigSilent Powerfactory.
- Programming experience in Python, Fortran, or C/C++.
- Experience with Grid Code requirements.
- Self-responsible, structured, customer and solution-oriented working mindset.
- Intercultural understanding, and thrive on working collaboratively with teams across functions and geographies.
- Fluent English spoken and written; Spanish and/or German is a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Proactive, assertive, and a team player.
