Function: Distribution Department: Distribution Purpose To develop strategy, provide direction and manage the Iberia Distribution team to generate sales of GAM fund products (and / or segregated mandates) to a range of potential intermediary clients (for e.g. financial advisors, wealth platforms, discretionary fund managers, investment / multi-managers and private banks) within the region. To be responsible also for generating own sales and meet or exceed individual annual sales targets, as agreed with line manager.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership – optimising the distribution function structure and clearly communicating a unified message on direction, strategy, plans and performanceCommit to hiring, motivating, and retaining a best-in-class, diverse distribution team which balances the specialisation and dedication required by key clients with economies of scale. Ensure sales team have advanced product and client knowledge necessary to optimise distributionDevelop initiatives that will drive increased revenues and profitability in line with the company's risk appetite and financial objectives. Drive accountability through setting of sales targets and the management of the annual budgets for sales, marketing, and headcount.Implement clear sales strategy which includes identifying market and client segments, appropriate strategies for Iberia market and ensure that team composition is suited to the defined sales strategy. Support team to maintain existing client relationships and to grow the client base through various targeted and defined approaches, conducted within the appropriate regulatory framework.Be responsible for idea generation in relation to fund manager road shows, seminars, sales/client events and make formal presentations to potential and existing clients or client groups.Actively participate in product strategy and fund development for the Iberia market in conjunction with Head of Product Development and Global Head of Client Solutions.Be available as necessary to contribute to relevant GAM subsidiary board and committees.Maintain good working relationships with other business areas within GAM, in particular with Investment Management, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Client Services. Exchange information to the benefit of the business and sales generation.Manage, coach, and develop direct reports and their supporting functions. Foster a positive and constructive working environment and team-driven culture, along with commercial awareness which will continue to increase customer orientation and service standardsFoster collaboration and knowledge sharing among team, internal stakeholders, and wider sales teams as a member of the Distribution Leadership GroupIdentify and mitigate risk within the functionChampion the company's culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives through recruitment, mentoring, recognition, and communicationQualifications & ExperienceA proven record of building and leading a successful distribution team at a major investment managerDeep knowledge of wholesale client types across Iberia including large GFIs, international private banks, family offices and wealth managersDemonstrable experience in deploying broad strategic skills and leading changeA proven record of active client management spanning client acquisition and relationship development. Deep experience in operating across a range of channels and geographiesHighly proficient in both written and oral English Personal AttributesAn ability to instill a passion for selling and growing the business.
