Position Summary
As the EMEA Financial Shared Services (FSS) EMEA Payroll Manager, you will oversee and manage the payroll processing for international employees within our fast-paced, high-growth organization. We are seeking an ideal candidate who possesses exceptional leadership skills, a positive attitude, and meticulous attention to detail. Regular collaboration with various departments, including Human Resources, will be a crucial aspect of the role. We expect the successful candidate to be service-oriented, thrive in high-volume responsibilities, and take pride in delivering accurate and thorough work. Professional interaction with all Plug Power employees is expected, and the ideal candidate will demonstrate care and discretion when handling sensitive payroll and personal data.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly payrolls in a high growth, fast-paced organization
Review and approve international payrolls for accuracy
Identify area of improvements and efficiencies by partnering closely with the Shared Services, Human Resources and other internal stakeholders to establish best practices for EMEA payroll
Ensure compliance with all corporate and country-specific policies and procedures
Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Manage all stock compensation from tracking to disbursement.
Act as point of escalation and work to identify, track, document, and resolve errors, issues and risks proactively with timely further escalation of unresolved items to senior management
Ensures payroll processes are administered in compliance with SOX requirements, internal company policies as well as applicable country, federal and state regulations or legislation, including applicable wage and hour regulations
Project lead for payroll related projects, including continuous development of processes that are scalable and support the company's growth
Additional responsibilities include project management of EMEA payroll service implementations, coordination with teams to integrate payroll systems with other upstream and downstream systems, and leading or participating in other EMEA initiatives
Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or other relevant field
7+ years of payroll experience with at least 3 years of overseeing a EMEA Payroll function
Experience working in an organization with numerous locations and a remote workforce is highly preferred
Extensive understanding of stock and equity disbursement and related tax implications
Extensive knowledge in Payroll & Accounting procedures and Payroll Tax Laws & Regulations
Experience with Workday payroll software strongly preferred
Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Self-motivated and ability to work in a fast-paced growing environment
Strong project management and process improvement capabilities
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail and results orientation are required.
Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
