WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORISGlobal is seeking a data scientist who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project INJURLESS. The overall project goal is to create a platform to integrate data from genomics and different wearables to properly manage physical activity.
The candidate will work on the Bioinformatics Research Group in Epidemiology (BRGE) lead by Dr Juan R Gonzalez which is integrated into the Environment and Health over the Lifecourse research programme that aims to conduct high-quality integrative research to expand knowledge on the causes and mechanisms of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), with a focus on environmental, radiation, occupational, lifestyle, social, infectious, and genetic risk factors throughout the life course, from prenatal to late adult life. Key outcomes include respiratory, cardiovascular and immune health, neurodevelopment, and cancer.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONSHave a completed, or close to completion, Master Degree with strong analytics expertise in any of the following areas: Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related fields with focus on data analytics. Additional profiles will be considered if highly motivated researchers in other related disciplines decide to apply.Programming experience in one or more general purpose programming language: R and PhytonExperience with Garmin devices SDK developmentBe willing to work in an interdisciplinary team within a highly collaborative research instituteBe fluent in spoken and written English.SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTSWe are looking for a person with high organizational and teamwork skills, capable of working autonomously, proactively and motivated, with good verbal and written communication.Flexibility of schedules will be valued.SPECIFIC DUTIESCreating code to connect devices with Garmin SDK.Using data generated from wearables to be connected with BLE to Garmin.Implement different visualization of several metrics in Garmin devices.Analyze data generated in real scenarios to validate the implementation with data obtained from gold standard procedures.SKILLSTeamwork.Problem resolution.Learning capacity.CONDITIONSDuration: 4 months.Contract: (part or full time) full time.Salary Range: Technician IIA.HOW TO APPLYApplicants must fill in the request form and include the following code reference position: Datascientist_ INJURLESS _ July24, attach the CV and a Cover Letter. 1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
