What would your role look like?
As Global Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, you will cooperate with colleagues globally on all levels in the organization, facilitating and coaching the organizations and productions sites worldwide to be a better place to work.
Together with the EHS managers located globally, you will work to minimize our environment, health, and safety risk, having our employees, local legislations, and requirements from Oterra in mind.
Your main responsibilities will include: Develop EHS strategic plans and drive towards zero injuries Develop and implement global safety policies and procedures (minimum requirements chemical safety, ergonomics, illness, and injury prevention and building safety), in compliance with country rules and regulations.
Lead global alignment of EHS policies, standards, and best-case practices Lead capability building for employees and leaders on safety policies, procedures, and regulations Work closely with local people leaders and Health and Safety committee representatives to deliver on the health and safety agenda Conduct periodic safety compliance audits across all production sites and secure actions implementation.
Support the collaboration and contact with the appropriate public authorities.
Support incident investigations and collaborates cross-functionally to communicate and address Health and Safety matters (CHESS) Support the development of Oterra's sustainability strategy on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and lead the implementation and rep orting in the production sites.
Support SMETA audits on CSR for EHS related topics Support Oterra's Mergers and Acquisitions with due diligence and integration in Oterra You will work closely with the site operations teams throughout the world, and you can look forward to travelling approx.
40-60% of time spent to visit our sites meet colleagues and participate in workshops.
Who are we looking for?
You have a university degree in Engineering (M.Sc or B.Sc) or equivalent.
Regardless of your academic background, you have thorough EHS management experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in project/manufacturing/services/operations environment.
We expect you to have highly developed leadership, interpersonal and strategic skills.
To succeed in this position, you have: Safety as a mindset Demonstrated professional experience and deep domain expertise in Environment, Health & Safety Experience in process manufacturing Industry Experience from food industry is considered a plus Good communication and influencing skills.
Excellent digital skills for furthering the digitalization strategy Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside Oterra (customers and regulatory agencies) High energy, self-starter Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Fluency in English; an additional language would be a plus (French, Italian, Spanish) What we offer you?
You will be based in one our production sites in Europe (Copenhagen area in Denmark; Parma area in Italy, Laval area in France, Valencia area in Spain) and you will be part of our global Operation Excellence team.
You will work closely with the local EHS managers, other functions, and external partners.
