The Software Sales Engineer fulfills a vital role within AVL by determining customer needs for Simulation & Testing Software for integrating all SW elements into the vehicle development process, translating these needs into cost-effective technical solutions. This role will involve coordinating technical proposals and quotations for all customer needs and requests, as well as visits to customer sites.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess at least an engineering degree. In addition, candidates preferably should possess 3 years' experience with a background in Software business; however, other entry-level profiles are also invited to apply.
Responsibilities:
Strong communication skills are required for success in this role. Responsibilities include:
Developing and coordinating technical solutions and quotations in response to customer requirements for AVL Simulation & Testing Software.
Identifying new business opportunities for AVL Software Business Unit.
Developing relationships within the existing customer base and acquiring new customers, driving sales and achieving business targets.
Making presentations and conducting software demonstrations at customer locations or via online meetings.
Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs and promote understanding of the AVL portfolio.
Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
Preparing sales plans using company tools and supporting forecasting planning tasks.
Performing regular status reviews throughout the AVL worldwide organization.
Developing and maintaining a high level of technical expertise in AVL SW solutions.
Providing market feedback for future software development and improvement.
Ensuring local execution of go-to-market strategies and product launches.
Supporting customers during the onboarding phase and collecting customer satisfaction information.
Profile Description:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related Software Engineering fields. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish; German is desirable. Candidates should be self-motivated and capable of setting and executing strategies to accomplish goals, with excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills. A self-confident personality with communication and intercultural skills and a high technical understanding is essential. Sales or sales support experience is preferred, along with a highly customer-focused attitude and the ability to solve customer-related issues to mutual satisfaction. Candidates should be capable of planning, prioritizing, and coordinating workloads with minimal guidance and have a willingness to travel (10%). Knowledge of the automotive industry and its current challenges is also required.
