What is it like to be a Quality Assurance Composite Manager at DHV Technology?

As a Quality Assurance Composite Manager at DHV Technology, you will lead the quality assurance activities for composite manufacturing, ensuring the highest standards of quality, traceability, and compliance throughout the entire production process. You will manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors while working closely with Engineering, Production, Product Assurance, and suppliers to ensure that composite products fully comply with customer requirements, ECSS standards, and applicable quality management systems before final delivery.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Quality Leadership: Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team responsible for composite manufacturing, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • Product Quality: Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and ECSS quality requirements throughout the manufacturing process until final product delivery.
  • Inspection & Verification: Oversee incoming, in process, and final inspections, ensuring products and materials meet established quality standards.
  • Supplier Quality: Manage supplier quality activities, including incoming material verification, supplier qualification, and quality audits when required.
  • Audits & Compliance: Plan and conduct product and process audits, ensuring compliance with AS/EN 9100, internal procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Non Conformance Management: Lead the resolution of manufacturing quality issues, supporting Product Assurance in the management of NCRs and corrective actions.
  • Quality Documentation: Review and approve product quality documentation, inspection records, and customer deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive quality improvement initiatives through statistical analysis, process optimization, certification management, and best practices across composite manufacturing.

Education and Requirements

To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Additional training in Composite Manufacturing, Quality Management Systems, or ECSS standards is highly valued.
  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance within manufacturing environments, preferably in the aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Proven experience leading quality teams and managing quality processes related to composite materials or advanced manufacturing.
  • Fluent level of English, both written and spoken.

Technical Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge in the following areas:

  • Composite Manufacturing: Solid understanding of composite manufacturing processes, inspection techniques, and product verification.
  • Quality Management Systems: Experience with AS/EN 9100, quality audits, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Supplier Quality: Knowledge of supplier qualification, incoming inspection, quality control, and supplier auditing processes.
  • Quality Tools: Experience with metrology, measurement equipment, statistical quality control, traceability, and non conformance management.
  • Space Standards: Familiarity with ECSS standards and quality requirements for space products is highly valued.
