Taking full ownership of your role, you will participate in the end-to-end design and delivery of high-quality backend services, focusing on: Backend Engineering: Building and maintaining Lambda functions, ECS-hosted services, and REST APIs behind API Gateway using TypeScript as your primary language
- keeping systems reliable, observable, and easy to evolve. Designing asynchronous workflows with SNS and SQS to handle audit results, trigger notifications, and integrate with external services, mastering idempotency, retries, and failure modes. Container & Cloud Workloads: Managing Docker containers and deploying services via ECS/ECR, configuring task definitions, and overseeing image lifecycles under real-world traffic. Data & Storage Management: Navigating smoothly between Aurora PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, leading schema design, migrations, query optimization, and knowing exactly when to leverage relational vs. Contributing to our AWS CDK stacks (TypeScript) as you settle in, growing your skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) alongside core development. 3+ years of backend

experience:
Proven track record of shipping production-ready Node.js services and understanding what reliable, maintainable backend systems require. Fluent TypeScript (server-side): Writing clean, well-typed async code, maintaining architecture sanity, and keeping codebases scalable as they grow. AWS Expertise: Hands-on experience with core cloud services (Lambda, SQS/SNS, ECS, API Gateway, RDS/DynamoDB). Solid Database Foundations: Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning. As this is a fully remote position, we can only employ candidates in countries where we have a legal entity. We're not able to provide visa sponsorship or relocation for this role. Extra Bonus Points if: You are curious about cloud infrastructure and eager to expand into Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK in TypeScript. You have hands-on experience or familiarity with accessibility testing tools (such as Lighthouse or Axe). Ready to build a project that truly matters?
