Overview The Head of Commercial Finance & Governance is a senior leadership role sitting at the intersection of Finance and Commercial, with direct visibility and accountability to the Board.The role exists to introduce, establish, embed, and sustain commercial governance in a business that has historically grown through entrepreneurial decision-making, informal practices, and siloed ways of working.This role ensures that commercial strategy, execution, and investment decisions are financially sound, consistently governed, transparent to leadership and the Board, and aligned to sustainable, profitable growth.Board-Level Mandate The Board expects this role to:Act as a guardian of commercial disciplineProvide clear, unbiased insight into revenue quality, margins, and ROIEnsure management decisions are data-driven and properly governedReduce commercial risk without slowing the business unnecessarilyResponsibilities and Accountabilities Board & Executive ReportingPrepare and present commercial finance insights to the Board and CommitteesReport on revenue quality, margins, pricing discipline, and commercial ROITranslate complex commercial activity into decision-ready insightsAct as a trusted advisor to the Board on commercial and financial risksAct as the primary finance partner to Commercial leadershipWork closely with Sales, Marketing, and Regional teamsChallenge assumptions constructively to ensure profitable growthEnable informed and timely commercial decision-makingDesign and implement pricing and discount governance frameworksDefine approval thresholds, margin guardrails, and escalation pathsEnsure consistency across regions and sales channelsActively monitor and manage margin leakageCommercial Planning, Forecasting & PerformanceLead commercial forecasting discipline with Finance and Commercial teamsImprove forecast accuracy and credibilityAlign commercial targets with financial plans and operational capacityCommercial Investment & ROI GovernanceEstablish governance for marketing spend, congresses, KOLs, and pilotsRequire clear business cases and post-investment reviewsEnsure ROI visibility to Executive Management and the BoardIncentives, Rebates & Commercial AgreementsOversee governance of sales incentives, rebates, and distributor agreementsEnsure incentives drive profitable and sustainable growthPartner with HR and Legal on consistency and complianceCommercial Governance & Ways of WorkingBuild governance frameworks where none previously existedClarify decision rights, ownership, and approval authoritiesBreak down silos between Finance, Sales, Marketing, and OperationsAct as a neutral arbiter when priorities conflictFinance Integration & Capability BuildingEnsure one version of the truth across Finance and CommercialStrengthen commercial finance capability across regionsInitially hands-on, with potential to build a small team over timeExperience and Qualifications10–15 years’ experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Business FinanceExperience in aesthetics, medical devices, pharma, or healthcareProven experience building governance in under-structured organisationsStrong understanding of pricing, margin management, distributors, and incentivesExperience of handling complex transformational changeSecond language is preferredValues & Behaviors We are a business driven by values and our collaborative culture.
