We provide the best solutions to our clients in these three businesses across the 10 countries where we operate.Role Overview Santander Alternative Investments is looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager based in our Castellana 24 office. Santander Alternatives is a growing business that started almost 3 years ago with €2.5 bn in commitments in core strategies for the group. We aim to develop funds where we have a clear competitive advantage to generate alpha for our institutional and UHNWI clients.ResponsibilitiesEngage with the Santander Group to leverage existing franchises to distribute the fund among Santander clients.Source, analyse and monitor investment opportunities.Day‑to‑day management of portfolios, including composition.Ensure portfolios comply with investment criteria and align with objectives and restrictions.Lead the execution and implementation of Investment Committee decisions in daily activities of the funds.Lead credit, risk and legal analysis for transactions and portfolios, supporting valuation methodology discussions from a fund‑management perspective.Negotiate with banks and other financial institutions to obtain financing (subscription lines and NAV financing) for the investment‑grade semi‑liquid strategy.Deliver supporting documentation for each acquisition such as legal documentation, valuation methodologies, and credit submissions.Support the management team in the search for alternative investment strategies.What You’ll Bring Our people are our greatest strength.
