**Santander Asset Management is looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager - Alternative Investment, based in our Madrid office.**

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**

As a **Senior Portfolio Manager - Alternative Investment you will be supporting the Trade Finance Investment strategy as part of its leadership teams with credit, valuation, risk management and legal negotiations.**

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:

- Lead the execution and implementation of Investment Committees´decisions in the daily activities in the different funds.
- Lead and suport rating agency discussions and analysis for the different alternative Investment strategies.
- Lead the legal engagement with external and internal counsel as well as external Asset originators for the Trade Finance strategy.
- Lead credit and risk analysis for the different transactions and portfolios, supporting from a Fund Management perspective the discussion on different valuation methodologies.
- Lead the delivery of supporting documentation for each acquisition as legal documentation, valuation methodologies and credit submissions.
- Support the engagement with internal and external stakeholders: Asset manager, Bank and Operationg Partners.
- Support the management team in the search for alternative investment strategies.
- To perform to industry leading standards the engagement with internal counterparties, such as Compliance, Legal and Audit departments.

EXPERIENCE
- 20 years´ experience in relevant fields.
- Experience in Investment Banking or Corporate Banking roles in credit or structutured credit solutions under Law of England, Law of the State of New York, or other common laws or working in rating agencies in the rating of CLOs and ABS Programmes.
- Experience in Investment or Corporate Banking experience in a global leading entity, with experience in the structuring of multi
- currency and multy
- country solutions or structures credit solutions in a trading desk at a world leading financial institution.

EDUCATION

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Credit Derivatives, Structured Trade Finance, Credit analysis, Structured Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Credit Funds.
- Law of England and LSNY lending structures.
