One Data Streaming Platform.Job Title Customer Success Technical Architect (CSTA)Job Overview The CSTA is both deeply technical and commercial. You will act as a trusted technical advisor and advocate to work with customers, ensuring their success, retention, and expansion. Leveraging a technical background (e.g., AppDev, SysAdmin, Distributed Computing), you will advise on architectures and best practices, helping customers accelerate time to value and maximize product consumption.ResponsibilitiesChampion and advocate for the customer within Confluent, coordinating between Sales, Product, Services, Support, and Training to drive technical success.Identify customer technical objections and develop strategies to address blockers to adoption.Support customers through the technical lifecycle: architecture planning, cluster & security design, monitoring & automation; provide guidance on upgrade or migration plans, platform hardening, and high‑availability design.Guide customers up the streaming maturity curve through advanced technical topics (e.g., data mesh, stream processing, utilization optimization, and performance tuning).Develop and present periodic customer reviews, including analysis of technical health and operational performance, to Confluent senior management.Document and transfer knowledge to customers and internal teams, helping Technical Support and Professional Services better serve customers.Influence the roadmap of Confluent products based on customer environments and use cases.Collaborate with Technical Support Engineers and Core Engineering to resolve complex customer issues.QualificationsExcellent communication and presentation skills.Strong service‑delivery, time‑management, project‑management, and priority‑management skills; experience in project financial fundamentals.Passion for working on complex technical problems and strong understanding of modern infrastructure and streaming technologies; self‑starter in a fast‑paced environment.Ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously, delivering results across initiatives such as expansion, retention, feature adoption, and customer satisfaction.Collaborative spirit and outstanding consulting & relationship‑management skills.Hands‑on knowledge of at least one key cloud vendor (AWS, GCP, Azure).Solid understanding of cloud networking and security technologies (VPC, Private Link, Private Service Connect, TLS / SSL, SASL, Kerberos, etc.).Quick learning of new technologies and strong interest in continuous learning.Preferred ExperienceApache Flink experience.Experience helping customers build distributed systems or streaming solutions that use Apache Kafka alongside Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.Proficient in client‑side code in Java, Python, Go, or similar.JVM tuning and troubleshooting skills.Experience operating Linux (RedHat & Debian) configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.Seniority Level Mid‑Senior levelEmployment Type Full‑timeJob Function Management and ManufacturingIndustries Software DevelopmentWe’re proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
