Senior Legal Counsel - Lending and Payments Solutions (Openbank)

Mission and Responsibilities:

  • Legal and regulatory advice to business related to the ordinary activity of the Bank, supporting different departments (different products and services related to retail banking in a digital environment, such as consumer loans, insurance products, wealth, payment services, etc.).
  • Participate in the design, obtain the necessary internal and external approvals, and monitor the commercial launch of new products and services.
  • Review and draft legal documentation such as contracts, confidentiality agreements, communications to clients, etc.
  • Advise on the implementation of new regulations, at both European and national levels.
  • Advise on administrative files and carry out procedures before public registries.
  • Participate in digitalization and innovation projects.

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Degree in Spanish Law. Fully qualified lawyer in Spain.
  • LLM in Banking Law (is a plus).
  • Great judgment, proactive, innovative, and customer-obsessed.
  • Be a team player and consensus builder, with great people skills who can efficiently collaborate with different areas of the organization.
  • 6 years of experience in a banking legal environment, with relevant experience from a law firm or in-house in a financial institution.
  • Proven experience in banking and/or investment products, particularly in regulation related to contracting banking/investment products remotely and consumer protection laws.
  • MS advanced level is required.
  • Fluent in English (C1).
