The job

As the Sales Director, you will have full sales and profit responsibility for the Chronic Care business. You will be directly responsible for the management and direction of all sales activities – from strategy design to execution of initiatives.

The Sales Director will drive and support revenue growth and profitability of the business through strong leadership of the sales team and will provide regular communication to the sales force as well as to the customers and at the same time will offer internal input to marketing.

The Sales Director is a member of the senior management team and therefore also responsible for setting the overall strategic direction for Spain.

Key responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the sales strategy based on the global commercial strategy.
  • Establishes strategic and operational sales plans and forecast, including short and long-term objectives that are aligned with the strategic direction.
  • Plans the activities of the sales organization to achieve agreed targets.
  • Ensures the execution of sales plans and follow up on defined KPI ́s.
  • Supports and models effective Team Selling within the sales and marketing organization.
  • Defines resources according to strategic objectives, including territory assignments.
  • Manages an annual expense forecast to adequately support forecasted, defined selling positions and sales goal attainment.
  • Drives the tender process; identification and delivery of the key strategic tenders.
  • Manages and further develops the relationships between Coloplast and KOLs through regular interaction, scheduled sales calls, industry events, and personal communication.
  • Assesses, determines and prioritizes growth opportunities with the customers.
  • Gives clear direction and sets challenging goals for the team holding people accountable for achieving those goals.
  • Provides visible leadership to the team in the field, all levels of sales people and customers.
  • Further develops of the commercial capability of the current team and creates a successful internal talent pipeline.

Qualifications

We are looking for a strong sales leader with a proven track record in senior sales management within the field of medical devices/healthcare and with experience of leading sales managers and sales teams.

In addition, we will be looking for the following qualifications:

  • Degree within business administration and/or medical technology/health, MBA preferred.
  • Experience in tender management.
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare environment.
  • Strong business acumen and judgement in the evaluation of business opportunities combined with a strong appreciation of financial management.
  • Good feeling of the market and strong customer orientation.
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills combined with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills together with good persuasion and influencing skills.
  • Excellent English language communication skills- written and verbal- to interact with our headquarters in Denmark.
  • Strong relationship building and management skills; ability to interact with different customer groups, KOL ́s and internal colleagues.
  • Dynamic personality with a lot of drive and energy.
  • Strong leadership skills being approachable, open-minded, ability to motivate and further develop the team, coach team members in order to help them realize their full potential.
