As a Statutory & Tax accountant you'll be responsible for correct statutory reporting for Spanish & Portuguese entities.

What you'll do

  • Ensure correct statutory reporting for Spain & Portugal.
  • Keeps him/herself updated with changes on statutory & tax rules and regulations; assesses business impact.
  • Ensures that nonrecurring transactions are properly accounted for, documented, properly stored and that they pass their audit reviews.
  • Establishes (local) policies & procedures for statutory accounting & reporting, including statutory accounts.
  • Managing and producing the statutory financial information for the annual report and accounts.
  • Supports in statutory audits and engaging with external auditors.
  • Lead tax audits and local representative for tax authorities.
  • Supporting in tax compliance for Spanish and Portuguese entities in scope, including:
  • Involvement in tax accounting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Preparation of tax schedules, calculations and commentary for internal (group) reporting.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax submissions and disclosures.
  • Assisting in documenting, maintaining, and implementing transfer pricing policies and procedures.
  • Engaging with external tax advisors.
  • Review of the outsourced service for local tax submission.
  • Support the Regional Statutory & Indirect tax Manager in improving and standardising processes within the Statutory and Regulatory environment.
  • Designs & adjusts statutory processes, procedures, document flow & controls.
  • Implementation, coordination and submission of Spanish Plastic Tax.
  • Preparation of WEEE quarterly declaration and recycling annual declaration.
  • Local representative for WEEE and recycling associations.
  • Follow up and management of tax notifications.
Support with procurement activities related to tax service providers.

Your qualifications

  • BA degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • You have at least 35 years of experience, ideally in a multinational and in a complex matrix organization.
  • You are familiar with local tax and statutory requirements.
  • You have welldeveloped planning and organizational skills and met deadlines.
  • You are an excellent communicator and able to clearly communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • You have experience in working across multiple levels, functions, regions and third parties in a manner that will professionally represent the department.
  • You are fluent in English.
