Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
Develop and Design Reference Security Patterns:
- Create reference security patterns aligned with security best practices and cloud vendor recommendations (following Well-Architected Pillars).
- Ensure these patterns are adaptable, scalable, and maintainable across Verisk's technology landscape.
Evaluate Security Technologies:
- Conduct proof of concept (PoC) evaluations for various security tools of the same type.
- Present product comparisons and recommendations to decision-makers to enhance Verisk's security posture.
Strengthen and Sustain Central Cloud Operations:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Assist colleagues in correctly operating Verisk's cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud security operations.
- Work with best-in-class Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPPs) such as Wiz, Aqua Security, Prisma, Orca, or Crowdstrike CSPM.
- Implement and maintain security controls specific to cloud-native applications.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of information security experience, including managing data security technologies and mentoring team members.
- Familiarity with Imperva, zScaler, and Microsoft security products is preferred.
- Subject matter expertise in information protection, data loss prevention, database security, database activity monitoring, or data lifecycle management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's degree or concentration in Cyber Security preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCSP, CISSP, CISM, SANS certifications) are highly desirable.
- Ability to independently assess and prioritize resolution of outstanding tasks and requests.
