Senior Cloud Security Specialist

As a Senior Cloud Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud-based applications and infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain secure cloud solutions that meet the highest industry standards.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Application Engineering teams to ensure the security of every cloud-based application.
* Enhance security assurance levels in the infrastructure supporting Verisk products.
* Work closely with application teams to develop secure products by design and default, leveraging patterns, tools, and frameworks.
* Elevate the skill level of embedded security leads.
* Design and implement software and systems to the highest security standards.
* Conduct technical security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing.
* Highlight risks and provide recommendations to improve security.
* Engage with Verisk teams and partners to enhance overall security posture.
Qualifications:
* Studying towards professional certifications in cybersecurity and cloud technology (e.g., CCSK, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Security – Specialty).
* Industry apprenticeship training or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
* Technical knowledge of cybersecurity foundations, including security reference architectures.
* At least 4 years of experience as a Cloud/IT architect, DevSecOps role, or Security Engineer, with expertise in Cloud Environments (preferably AWS, but Azure and GCP are also desired).
* Demonstrable capabilities in structured work assignments and leading small teams.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical and critical thinking abilities.
