Purpose, Key Activities and main Features:
Working under the direction of the Europe Proposals Leader, the BID/Proposal Manager:

  • Leads wing-to-wing activities from deal structuring, budgeting and proposal generation to contract negotiations and closure of project opportunities under his/her responsibility.
  • Is a fundamental piece building the bid winning strategy in partnership with the Sales organization.
  • Is able to build trust with customers, also through tense negotiations. He/she is paranoic about understanding customer needs, meeting customer's expectations and win with quality, integrity and best value.
  • Project manages the different steps of the deal. Sets targets and priorities. Plans actions. Tracks them. Identifies bottlenecks. Meets deadlines.
  • Manages approval processes and comes across as a reliable leader that gives sound recommendations/directions along the lines of a bid winning strategy. Stands out for his/her ability to create a winning culture within the bid team.
  • Owns the deal and becomes the customer point of contact for the project.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in sales/commercial activities in the water/waste industry 5 years minimum
  • Understanding of water and wastewater technologies and processes (ultrafiltration, MBR, EDI/EDR, Reverse Osmosis, thermal evaporators).
  • Experience in project development, engineering or project management would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to complex projects and flowsheets in the water sector would be closely considered.
  • Understanding of service models around technology solutions including associated financial tools
  • Knowledge of international contracting practices
  • Availability to travel on Business as needed
  • Fluency in professional English. French or other languages are a plus.

  • Customer focus: skilled in negotiations and comfortable in highly demanding negotiation environments. Enjoys customer contact.
  • Creative problem solver: able to read the big picture and set goals in line with company's objectives.
  • Strong horizontal leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • A second/third language would be a plus
  • Previous experience in big Multinationals, ability to work in complex matrix organizations.
  • Superior analytical reading/writing/editing skills that result in the design and creation of best quality proposal content.
  • Openminded, disciplined and used to working in remote global teams.
  • Good business acumen. Understands company priorities, financials and articulates business cases in a comprehensive manner in front of customers.
  • Ability to multitask and deliver results against demanding customerdriven deadlines.
