Role Purpose


As an extended arm of the Group Tax HQs function, responsible for overseeing and managing tax activities in countries with no local tax manager presence.

Assume direct responsibility for local tax governance, audit & risk management in coordination with the CCFOs.

Act as a business partner and coordinate with local and global stakeholders ensuring tax outcomes are aligned to global tax strategy and compliant with local laws as well as international standards.

The role includes the management of one direct report (Regional Tax Manager) and of third-party external professionals (global and local providers) and close collaborations with shared services centers.


Your Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the Group's arrangements, policies, and fiscal structures, to ensure they are in line with the best practice and latest developments in the relevant jurisdictions, recommending any changes that improve the transparency and efficiency of the structure while protecting the value inherent
  • Monitor local and international tax environment developments, proactively managing potential impact and advise Group Tax on possible work out solutions as well as helping the business to familiarize with the changes
  • Overall responsibility for the region tax risk management coordinating relevant stakeholders (shared services centres, operational tax, local finance, Group Tax, functional tax COEs, external service providers)
  • Responsible for tax audit defense: working with external consultants, coordinate and guide tax audits, litigations, and negotiations to minimize adjustments and penalties in full alignment with Group Tax and relevant internal stakeholders
- (Co)Develop, maintain, and ensure implementation of the Group Tax global tax strategy and related guidelines/instructions, including adequate tax review process and trainings

  • Advise on the regional Group Tax position, monitor, and research tax regulations and policies, identify the tax impact, and keep regional tax intelligence
  • Role model a curious, unbossed & inspired culture to enable innovation and transformation how to stay a lean and effective function stimulate new skillset approach
  • Maintain first class professional tax organization in the region by investing in tax knowledge development for both self and the regional tax manager

Minimum requirements

  • Indicators of the management of the tax variable related to the local entities in the country, incl. local profitability and tax R&D savings achieved
  • Timely, accurate delivery of local tax compliance requirements for countries in scope
  • Successful management and completion of tax audits/litigations/negotiations
  • Timely delivery, accuracy, and conciseness of responses/work
  • Tax to be perceived as a business partner locally and globally, quality of relationship with key stakeholders
  • Timely gather central and local information to prepare tax audit defensive memo
  • No tax control issues in the region without remediation actions
  • Proper and timely identification of tax risk
