Department:

The EMEA Electrics and Control department was created shortly after the establishment of the EMEA Development Center (EDC). It is one of the fastest-growing departments aimed at facilitating and ensuring the strong future growth of Daikin. The department is located in Gent, Technology Park, and plays a crucial role in developing embedded software & hardware as well as cloud and app development. This year we want to expend our 2nd office in Madrid.

Role Overview: As a Junior Software Test Engineer at Daikin Europe N.V., you will contribute to the identification of weak spots and the continuous improvement of our software testing processes. You will work closely with development teams to implement better testing strategies, enhance test coverage, and identify potential problems in our software. Your responsibilities will include defining test strategies, creating test plans, coordinating test execution, and collaborating with Software Project Leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development teams to improve test coverage and release velocity
  • Assist in instrumenting workflows to monitor velocity, coverage, and quality
  • Gain hands-on experience in automating tasks and building test coverage
  • Write code/scripts to test systems and implement test infrastructure as needed

Requirements:

  • Hold a master's degree in software development or a related field
  • Have experience in several of the following domains:
    • Embedded software
    • Test automation tools (Jenkins, Jmeter, RobotFramework & git)
    • Electronics
    • Proficiency in Python and other programming languages is a plus
    • embedded software development tools and debugging techniques (e.g., IDEs, JTAG debuggers) is a plus.
    • Network communication and related security
  • In-depth knowledge of embedded systems architectures, communication protocols, and hardware/software interfaces is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead testing efforts and drive improvements in testing processes
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
