The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking 2 Postdoctoral Researchers.

These positions will be funded through PHOTOelectrocatalytic systems for Solar fuels energy INTegration into the industry with local resources .

ICIQ is one of the worlds internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis Renewable Energy and Health .

ICIQ is looking for two postdoctoral researchers with a PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering to carry out a research project in the laboratories of Prof.

Julio Lloret.

The reselected candidate will develop highly selective and robust catalysts for electrocatalytic CO 2 reduction to MeOH in a multidisciplinary of European Project (PHOTOSINT).

Privileged catalysts will be implemented in Membrane Electrode Assembles within photoelectrochemical devices. PHOTOSINT project aims to push the state of the art towards integrating solar to chemicals processes in industry. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to work on our cuttingedge project. Responsibilities Catalysts development basedon earthabundant elements for CO2RR and their study. To develop membrane electrode assembles with the best CO2RR. To help in the electrochemical cell design. Perform electrochemical and morphological tests (single cell electrolyzer EIS RDE SEM TEM). Interact with fellow scientists to evaluate results and write reports. Writing scientific articles and research projects; thus a high level of English communication skills (oral and writing) is required. Maintenance of laboratory equipment. Complete documentation of research results. Participate in R&D Chemistry group meetings and special projects. Requirements PhD or Doctorate in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering A strong background in electrocatalytic reactions and catalysts.

Knowledge of electrochemical methods for electrocatalyst characterization (RDE halfcell cyclic voltammetry etc.) Good knowledge of scientific English Knowledge on common laboratory techniques and analytic tools.

Experience on photoelectrochemistry will be a plus. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Strong motivation for the project and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research. Proficient in English (written and spoken) Strong problemsolving skills and ability to think creatively. Ability to work independently and take initiative to drive the project forward.
