Vestas is seeking a Land Specialist within the Global Development Team - EMEA and Latam Region, to support through land rights acquisition activities the wind project development during the whole development cycle from the origination phase to ready to build.The Land Specialist will be based in Madrid and will have an important part in the securing land plots for wind energy projects execution, in close coordination with the Country Head of Spain, the Project Managers in charge for the opportunities and the other supporting functions, i.e. Legal/Compliance department. The activities will be mainly focused on the Spanish market with potential involvement in opportunities under development in the other EMEA & LATAM Regions.

Responsabilities

  • Management of external subcontractors for the purpose of securing land agreements for wind energy projects and related infrastructure
  • Participating in identification and search of landowners, land plots legal verification, negotiating land lease and easement agreements, and public land tenders concessions
  • Archiving and organization of land related agreements
  • Follow-up of execution of contractually agreed provisions
  • Support organizing notarial deeds or other required contracts.
  • Liaison and collaboration with different departments (Project Management Execution, Wind & Site, Legal, Finance, among others) for this, and other project development related activities
  • Expand external land subcontractors network (real estate agents, companies, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, business administration, public relations, agriculture science/engineering, geography or real estate related education. Other degrees can also be considered.
  • 3+ year experience regarding real estate, valuable in non-urban areas, ideally in energy and/or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge regarding contracts, civil code and real estate management.
  • MS Office basic user; QGis will be an additional advantage.
  • Full proficiency in Spanish; high level of English.
  • Valid driving license
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Open minded, and ability to build positive and lasting relationships with landowners and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Good and varied interpersonal skills both on "field/landowner level", "Authorities/Townhall level" and "Internal corporate level"
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to engage with many different stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness and ability to take frequent business trips.
  • Good organizational skills combining business trips and office work.
  • Ability to understand and negotiate land contracts and land tenders
