Job Purpose

Lead the analysis, development, and optimisation of aircraft reliability and maintenance programs, ensuring thorough compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, in order to enhance operational efficiency, predict and prevent component failures, and reduce overall maintenance costs while maintaining high safety standards.

Main Accountabilities

  • Analyse and manage maintenance performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Oversee predictive maintenance initiatives using real-time data.
  • Monitor and analyse reliability data to identify trends and issues.
  • Compile and update the maintenance program documentation.
  • Evaluate and adjust maintenance intervals based on data analysis.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities for program approvals.
  • Liaise with internal departments for maintenance planning and execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects within the maintenance program.
  • Provide support during regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Implement advanced technologies for maintenance and reliability.
  • Manage the policy for mandatory and non mandatory modifications.
  • Organize and manage the team, promoting their development, teamwork and
    communication, between their collaborators and the rest of the Company.
  • Perform any other responsibility or function that is assigned inherent to the job.

Main Responsibilities - Tasks

  • Provide detailed reports on maintenance delays, aircraft utilisation, average downtime during major maintenance, and other key performance indicators to inform decision-making processes and improve operational performance.
  • Implement and manage predictive maintenance strategies by monitoring aircraft data in real-time, identifying potential component failures, and proposing timely inspections or replacements to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of reliability data, detect patterns and correlations in maintenance events, and issue alerts for recurring problems, collaborating with engineering teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Ensure the maintenance program documentation incorporates all necessary inspections, modifications, and regulatory requirements, keeping it current and compliant with manufacturer recommendations and internal standards.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of maintenance tasks, using statistical analysis to propose adjustments in intervals, optimising maintenance schedules and reducing unnecessary procedures without compromising safety.
  • Facilitate the review and approval process of maintenance programs by relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring all programs meet the stringent standards required for compliance and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance planning department and other operational teams to ensure maintenance activities are scheduled and executed efficiently, minimising impact on fleet availability and ensuring all necessary resources are in place.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data analytics and industry best practices to enhance maintenance processes, increase operational efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining high standards of safety and reliability.
  • Ensure the team is prepared for audits, facilitating smooth interactions with inspectors and addressing any findings promptly to maintain compliance.
  • Integrate new tools such as data analytics platforms and predictive maintenance software to improve the accuracy and efficiency of maintenance operations.
  • Implement and oversee policies for modifications, ensuring all mandatory changes are completed and evaluating the benefits of non-mandatory improvements.
  • Make the department managed a better place to work.
  • Fulfill the mission of the job if it is in the employee ́s hand.

Main Relationships

  • Head of Technical Services: For overall direction, strategic alignment, and reporting.
  • Compliance Monitoring Manager CAMO (RCC CAMO): For developing regulations, procedures, and corrective actions from audits.
  • Maintenance Planning Department: For scheduling and executing maintenance programs, ensuring the availability of necessary resources and minimal disruption.
    Operational Control Centre (MOC): For addressing real-time technical queries and supporting operational needs.
  • Engineering Teams (Systems, Structures, Engines): For collaborative problem-solving, implementing modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Regulatory Authorities (e.g., EASA, AESA): For compliance with aviation regulations, participation in audits, and implementing regulatory updates.
  • Suppliers and External Maintenance Providers: For coordinating repairs, overhauls, and ensuring service quality. Insurance and Finance Departments: For managing budgetary concerns, processing insurance claims, and financial reporting.
  • Data Science and Analytics Teams: For leveraging advanced analytics and predictive maintenance technologies to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Fleet Management Teams: For coordinating the induction and phase-out of aircraft, ensuring maintenance programs are adapted accordingly.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, essential for understanding the technical aspects of aircraft reliability and maintenance.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in technical services engineering tasks, necessary for familiarity with the technical and operational demands of the role.
  • Proven experience in managing technical projects, demonstrates the ability to lead, coordinate, and optimise team performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, required for evaluating maintenance
    programs, addressing technical issues, and implementing improvements.
  • Experience in developing and implementing maintenance programs and reliability
    initiatives, ensures the ability to maintain fleet airworthiness and improve operational
    efficiency.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, necessary for understanding and applying
    relevant aviation regulations and standards.
  • Project management experience, important for overseeing complex projects,
    coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion.

Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance and reliability principles, crucial for
    overseeing and optimising maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with AMOS or similar aviation management software, important for
    managing maintenance operations and technical records efficiently.
  • Understanding of Airworthiness Directives and safety regulations, necessary for
    ensuring compliance and implementing required modifications and safety measures.
  • Understanding of financial implications of maintenance programs, important for
    making cost-effective decisions and optimising budget utilisation.
