Summary / Role Purpose

The R&D Engineer II will support the development of software products and related systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure the best possible performance and quality of the software to be delivered.
• Design, implement and maintain software components which meet the requirements.
• Maintain code quality and automatization.
• Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews.
• Implement appropriate testing strategies.
• Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
• Work in an agile environment.
• Interact with project teams across applications and business units to address project requirements.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2 years' experience, MS with 1 years' experience or PhD.
• Understanding of software design and development methodologies.
• Strong Python experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Experience with development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git and MS Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Good understanding of software architecture patterns and principles.
• Knowledge of Web architecture and Web API such as RESTful or gRPC.
• Experience with Software Development LifeCycle processes, including testing and DevOps practices.
• Experience with ANSYS or any other related CAE tool.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Python Dash, Angular or React.
• Knowledge of Agile methods.
• Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.
